Steven J. Block is the founder of the Law Offices of Steven J. Block and Associates. He focuses his practice on Criminal Defense, DUI and Statutory Summary Suspension Law. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Bachelor of Science in Communications. He graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mr. Block began his career as an Assistant State's Attorney where he prosecuted thousands of DUI's, including other misdemeanors, felonies and other traffic related offenses. He has first hand experience in understanding the way a police officer thinks and builds a case based upon his experience as an Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County. Mr. Block has tried close to one thousand cases to verdict, including both bench and jury trials.
In 2005, guided by invaluable experience, Mr. Block joined the law firm of Ahern, Maloney, Moran. In 2009, Mr. Block became a Partner in the Law Firm of Ahern, Malony, Moran & Block. During that time, he has successfully defended thousands of clients who were charged with DUI and other criminal offenses. Mr. Block has assisted in the drafting of the IICLE chapter pertaining to issues relating to DUI and Statutory Summary Suspension. Throughout his career, Mr. Block has lectured on behalf of the Chicago Bar Association and Central States Institute on multiple occasions on issues pertaining to DUI. He has also lectured at the annual Illinois Traffic Conference in Peoria, Illinois on new law relating to DUI. Mr.Block has published articles for the Illinois State Bar Association and Northwest Suburban Bar Association on issues that dealt with Fourth Amendment, DUI and Statutory Summary Suspension law.
